Some time back I wrote about making no poo shampoo for curly hair. It talks about creating a homemade hair cleanser for curly hair.
The process is simple. Moreover, it takes a matter of minutes to whip ingredients to create the shampoo.
Anyone with hair that is not straight would love the recipe. Although this shampoo is in specific for people with curly hair. But anyone can use it. Its ingredients are mild and from natural resources.
Though there is a downside to this shampoo. It does not have a stable shelf-life. You need to prepare it fresh. Though you can freeze it and store for a longer duration. But at the time of usage, it requires appropriate thawing.
This may seem like a bottleneck to someone hard-pressed on time.
Since I am a hardcore DIY person. I do not suggest going back to the usual shampoos. Most of the shampoos have parabens, silicones, and other petroleum-based derivatives. These ingredients lead to hair issues with continued usage. Also, with each commercial hair product, you end up using a complementary product. This leads to extensive usage of products filled with chemicals that are not good for the hair. Plus these ingredients also disbalance the pH levels of the scalp. Thus, you end up with frizzy hair and an itchy scalp.
Both the chemical shampoos and DIY ones may seem overwhelming to many. But there does exist a middle path between regular shampoos and the DIY ones.
Few commercial brands of shampoo do not contain parabens and silicones. Thus work as reliable shampoo alternatives for curly hair.
Below is a list of them that have no nasty chemicals, but are good for curly hair.
7 Shampoo Alternatives for Curly Hair

In Conclusion
If you got curly hair, then you know how unique you are. From Julia Roberts to Kangana Ranaut, the curls bring in a charming fascination.
Along with the beauty of curls, comes their upkeep. No matter how much you condition them. It seems that they always end up dry.
Within days, neglected moisturization leads to over dried and frizzy hair. Thus comes along knots, mess and a whole lot of styling issues. Not to mention, a lot of hair in the brush as well.
The solution lies in keeping the hair moisturized and cuticles protected. This philosophy begins from the hair wash and is not restricted to the oils and conditioners.
The regular commercial shampoos with sulfates do not help. Rather, they add to the woes. Homemade DIY shampoos contain no detergents, thus prove good for the hair.
It is fortunate that there exist a few brands that are exclusive for curly hair. Plus, they do not contain any of the nasty parabens, silicones, and sulfates.
Most of them contain nature-based cleansers. They also contain emollient Argan oil. Since Argan oil penetrates into the hair shaft. It makes a wonderful ingredient in the regular shampoo alternatives for curly hair.
The labels of each of shampoo in the list contain ingredients that are synonym with hair love.
For sure you will see a difference in your curls. They will turn manageable and less dry.
